Before TRT
Low testosterone is diagnosed, not guessed.
Tiredness, a lower sex drive and less muscle have many causes. Guidelines from the Endocrine Society and the American Urological Association call for both of these before testosterone therapy.
Symptoms and signs
Symptoms that fit low testosterone, reviewed with your history and medicines.
Two morning tests
A low total testosterone level in the morning, confirmed by a second morning test. Levels are usually highest between 7 and 10 a.m.
A clinician’s review
A licensed clinician looks for the cause and checks free testosterone when the total is borderline or SHBG is unusual.

Question 1 of 4
Questions.
Do I need a blood test first?
Yes. A licensed clinician needs a recent testosterone result, ideally from a morning blood draw, when levels are usually highest. Guidelines recommend confirming a low result with a second morning test. You can use a recent result or order one through Everdawn Labs.
Why is there a video visit?
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance, so a licensed clinician who can prescribe it meets you by video before deciding.
Will TRT affect fertility?
It can. Testosterone can lower sperm count, and the Endocrine Society advises against starting it if you plan to have a child soon. Ask your clinician about enclomiphene, a daily tablet that helps your body make its own testosterone.
Can testosterone raise blood pressure?
Yes. In 2025 the FDA said blood pressure studies confirmed an increase in blood pressure with testosterone products, class-wide. Your clinician checks your blood pressure before you start and during treatment.
How is TRT monitored?
In the first year, the Endocrine Society recommends checking your symptoms and side effects, your testosterone and hematocrit (red blood cell) levels, and your prostate cancer risk. Your clinician sets the schedule.
What does TRT cost here?
