Dose steps
You start low and step up slowly.
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 medicine injected once a week. It starts low and steps up every 4 weeks, which helps with stomach side effects. These are the steps on the FDA label for Wegovy; your clinician sets your own. Everdawn’s monthly price starts at $89 a month at the lowest dose and rises as your dose steps up.
- Weeks 1 to 40.25 mg
- Weeks 5 to 80.5 mg
- Weeks 9 to 121 mg
- Weeks 13 to 161.7 mg
- Then, usual dose2.4 mg
FDA-approved semaglutide is sold as Wegovy for weight and Ozempic for type 2 diabetes. Everdawn offers compounded semaglutide from a licensed U.S. pharmacy, prescribed only when a licensed clinician documents a medical reason an FDA-approved product isn’t right for you.
Compounded injections
Read the label. Measure exactly.
The FDA has had reports of dosing errors with compounded semaglutide, some needing hospital care. A compounded vial can be a different strength from a brand pen, so three habits matter.
Check the strength
Read the strength on your pharmacy label before every dose, especially after a dose step.
Measure as directed
Use the syringe and units the pharmacy’s instructions name. Ask before you guess.
Know the form
The FDA warns that salt forms, such as semaglutide sodium or acetate, are different active ingredients. Ask your clinician what you’ll receive.

Question 1 of 4
Questions.
Is this Wegovy or Ozempic?
No. Wegovy and Ozempic are FDA-approved brand-name semaglutide. Everdawn’s option is compounded semaglutide from a licensed U.S. pharmacy. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they’re sold.
Does the price change with my dose?
Everdawn’s monthly price for compounded semaglutide starts at $89 a month at the lowest dose and rises as your dose steps up. Check-ins and refills are included. Shipping, tax and your full total are confirmed before you pay.
What dose will I start on?
Your clinician decides. For reference, the FDA label for Wegovy injection starts at 0.25 mg once a week for 4 weeks and steps up every 4 weeks to a usual maintenance dose of 2.4 mg. Compounded semaglutide comes with the pharmacy’s own instructions.
What should I know about compounded semaglutide?
The FDA has had reports of dosing errors with compounded semaglutide, some needing hospital care, and warns that salt forms (semaglutide sodium and semaglutide acetate) are different active ingredients. Check the strength on your label, follow the pharmacy’s measuring instructions exactly, and ask your clinician if anything is unclear.
What are the most common side effects?
On the Wegovy label: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, tiredness, indigestion, dizziness, bloating, burping, gas, stomach flu, heartburn, a runny nose or sore throat, and low blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.
I have surgery coming up. Does that matter?
Yes. Tell your clinician and your surgical team. The label notes that food can stay in the stomach longer on semaglutide, and breathing food or liquid into the lungs has been reported during anesthesia or deep sedation.
